What Does Acai Flush Do?
Acai Berry
Acai Berry may help to maintain normal metabolism and energy production.
It may also help to support healthy cardiovascular and digestive health as a result of an amazing combination of healthy fats (monounsaturated), phytosterols and dietary fibre. It is rich in the essential fats omega 3, omega 6 and omega 9.
It contains vitamin A, C, E, B1, B2 and B3 along with potassium, calcium magnesium, copper and zinc.
The acai berry is rich in protein (19 amino acids), containing as much as an egg. It also contains trace minerals important for muscle regeneration
Acai berry increases antioxidant levels in the blood and may help to maintain a healthy immune system.
Psyllium Husks
Psyllium is a bulk-forming laxative and is high in both Fiberand mucilage. Psyllium seeds contain 10-30% mucilage. The laxative properties of psyllium are due to the swelling of the husk when it comes in contact with water. This forms a gelatinous mass that keeps faeces hydrated and soft, provided it is taken with sufficient water. The resulting bulk stimulates a reflex contraction of the walls of the bowel, followed by emptying.
Uva Ursa Leaf
The glycoside arbutin is the main active constituent in uva ursi and comprises up to 10% of the plant by weight. Hydroquinone is a powerful anti-bacterial agent which may help to maintain a healthy urinary and digestive tract.
Slippery Elm Powder
The mucilage of slippery elm, found in the inner bark, gives it the soothing effect for which it is known. The mucilage appears to act as a barrier against the damaging effects of acid on the digestive tract, helping it to heal. It may also have an anti-inflammatory effect locally in the stomach and intestines.
Fennel Seed Herb
Its carminative properties may ease flatulence by relaxing the intestines and reducing bloating. Anethole and other terpenoids inhibit spasms in smooth muscles, such as those in the intestinal tract, and this is thought to contribute to fennel?s use as a carminative (gas-relieving and gastrointestinal tract cramp-relieving agent).
Fennel is also thought to possess diuretic (increase in urine production), choleretic (increase in production of bile), pain-reducing, fever-reducing, and anti-microbial actions. Fennel was formerly an official drug in the United States and was listed as being used for indigestion.
Alfalfa Powder
Alfalfa has been used as an herbal medicine for over 1,500 years. It is high in protein, calcium, plus other minerals, vitamin A, vitamins in the B group, vitamin C, vitamin D, vitamin E, and vitamin K.
In early Chinese medicines, physicians used young alfalfa leaves to treat disorders related to the digestive tract and the kidneys. In Hindu societies, ayurvedic physicians used the leaves for treating poor digestion.
The leaves contain approximately 2-3% saponins. Studies suggest that these constituents may block absorption of cholesterol and support a healthy cardiovascular system. Alfalfa leaves also contain flavones, isoflavones, sterols, and coumarin derivatives.
