Met-Rx CLA is an essential fatty acid known as conjugated linoleic acid which is derived from sunflower oil. Research surrounding this fatty acid indicates that it may promote muscle tone and produce a decrease in fat accumulation at fairly low dosages without any major effects on food intake.
It may work in the body via a process known as repartitioning, in which the CLA is said to help switch calories from food into healthy muscle tone tissue whilst helping the body to burn stored fat cells. As well as helping to maintain a healthy fat to lean body mass ratio, CLA may also help maintain a healthy immune system and healthy cholesterol levels.
